Assume by now you have something. However - why "Power Electronics" for "DC Motor" Control? That's quite old technology. Sorry - but no new ideas. Pete

DC drive technology is still in demand.
The power electronics area that needs improvement is a better speed control during the discontinuous current region of a single phase drives.

I love DC drives - transitioned from MG-Sets to 4Q DC Static in the 60s. True - Rolling Mills still use DC - due to size, low base speed & installed base. And - near zero torque & current, and transitions through, have presented challenges for DC drives - those have been ``resolved`` decades ago - not as well as AC - but not a ``development`` issue today. Just wondering why DC would be a thesis level issue today.
