I am looking for some guidance on equipment or procedures that have been effective in sorting 4,6,and 8 pole single phase induction motors for noise level. The testing would need to be done as a final inspection in a production environment. I realize this has been an age old problem, but thought that maybe someone has had some new successful approaches. Can this type of testing be done using vibration rather than sound measurement? Your comments please.
