Understand the capability of system using VFD, Scada and PLC

Hi friends, hope you all doing well i am going to build  prototype to show the common people to understand the capability of system using VFD, Scada and PLC, so i'm seeking valuable suggestion from you guys, so please comment
what would be the simple and best prototype that i should make to show the full capability of automation systems.

Try building a project that focuses on Energy Savings, and also on Safety. One example is the control of two or more water pumps via HMI/SCADA that supplies the water needs of a community. Pumps uses VFDs to control its speed and torque effectively, which will also mean that you are efficiently using power. Motor status alarms, and other events maybe viewed in HMIs to prompt operators the conditions of the motors. You can also set schedules to which pumps will run and to up to when it will run. You can create a lot of options from here.

Hope that this helps.

Cheers,
Aris

Hi Asaf, I think you can make a power station prototype, you can use VFD to control the primemover and frequency output generator. But maybe you have to make a great page for generator dan primemover view in SCADA.

I mean you can control speed of the primemover to influence the frequency output generator.

Hi Asaf,

You can not call this a SCADA that is a PLC controllering a motor with VFD and displaying status on HMI. SCADA is much more big and complex system.

You can call it as a RMS - remote monitoring system. Do not confuse yourself and other learners about SCADA.

you are right faizal i knew about that , i have a doubt is there be any difference between SCADA & SCMS systems

Maybe, a project with a simple program on a common low profile PLC such as OMRON CP1M or a SiemensS7-200 using a SCADA or HMI support such OPC services to comunicate with a Visual Basic application.

it is water treatment system, two/three filters usually observed at home, addition is a small .5 KW VFD ,weintec 4 inch touch HMI, fatek/ cheap PLC + Wincc Scada siemens/ Cimplicity of GE of Adnentec, cheaper little membranes + pump is 1st step, + VFD in 2nd step, + PLC in 3rd + HMI in 4th, + Scada/ multi HMIs at the end, do it step by step and make people happy with fresh pure water, rate may be """2 to 5 ltr per minute"""
advantage of this is that step by step u can add more instrumentation eg RAW LL auto off, Product HL auto on++++,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,loved or simple way of question
