EMI filter for variable frequency drives

EMI (Electro-Magnetic Interference) filter is used for restraining the transmission of electromagnetic noise generated by the variable frequency drive, and also can control external radio interference and electric transient surge to impact the ac drives.

It's necessary to apply EMI filters for the circumstance that requires high level EMI protection, comply with CE, UL and CSA standard, and have weaken jamproof equipments near the variable frequency drives. During installation of the EMI filter, the wiring cable needs to be as short as possible and the filter should near to ac drives, the closer the better.

Note: The EMI filter ground connection cable can't be thin wires, it should be fixed on the metal case where the surface paint has been clear away. This ground connection way can reduce high frequency grounding impedance to maximize the EMI filter's efficiency.
